SANTI's first-ever scholarship program has started!
Among dozens of applications, we finally selected three 2023/2024 Scholarship recipients on May 20 at Deepspot during the second stage of recruitment.
A few words about the winners:
Maja Gadzinska - Musical and dubbing actress, singer, cultural manager, soloist at the D. Baduszkowa Musical Theater in Gdynia. On the boards of the theater she has played more than a dozen leading and supporting roles. She began her adventure with diving at the beginning of this year. Her passion was infected by her other half-instructor; a technical, rebreather wreck diver. She did her OWD course in the Arctic Ocean in Norway, beyond the Arctic Circle. As part of her scholarship, she wants to expand her diving skills and knowledge of marine wildlife ecology and conservation, as well as underwater conservation. Her dream is to dive the Princess Alice Bank with large animals, such as blue sharks, and explore the wrecks of the Baltic and Arctic Oceans. With her activities she wants to show that there is room for many passions in life, even if they are as extreme as theater and diving.
Patrycja Ciesielska - Master's student at the Faculty of Archaeology of the UW. She deals with underwater archaeology and the subject of ports of the Roman Empire, their topography, characteristics and peculiarities. Leader of the scientific project "Diving for Science" conducted within the KNAP (Scientific Circle of Underwater Archaeology). Participant of an international underwater archaeological project in Turkey. She is passionate about diving. If she is not underwater, she has been sailing for years with a passion. She can just as often be found on winter mountain hikes.
Piotr Kuświk - Experimental physicist and on a daily basis conducts scientific research on the use of magnetic materials as storage and information processing media. On the other hand, he devotes his free time to his great passion, scuba diving. He took his first breath underwater 11 months ago and it was love from the first dive. So far, he has completed OWD and AOWD courses, and his underwater videos are posted on the YT channel Nur&Ski. Thanks to the SANTI scholarship, he will be able to develop his skills and meet people in love with diving just like him.
Over the next 12 months, we will work together with our Partners to develop their diving skills, help them gain experience in and promote safe diving.
In their underwater adventure, thanks to the Partners, they will be accompanied by the following diving equipment:
