Tomek Stachura the founder of SANTI is a diver with over 30 years experience.

After several years of diving, expeditions, gaining new experiences, and testing equipment, Tomasz still struggled to find the perfect gear for his diving comfort. The undersuits were too thin, the drysuits lacked comfort, and the cold persisted.

However, being the owner of a successful apparel production company at the same time provided him with the opportunity to invest time and effort in creating a new product that would combine his passion with business expertise. In 2001, the prototype of the BZ400 SANTI undersuit was born.

Immediately, he observed that the new undersuit provided much more warmth than anything he had previously tested. Over hundreds of test dives in numerous extreme environments, and through tens of changes and improvements, it finally reached its ready state. Throughout this process, dive partners and friends began to express interest in the undersuits. Tomasz, open to feedback from a diverse group of divers, listened to their input about the EXTREME 400 UNDERSUIT, which has now emerged as the flagship product in the new SANTI Diving division.

Tomasz a well-known diver became the best ambassador of the product. In no time, divers worldwide began to recognize the value of the BZ400 undersuits. The increasing market interest led to further development, fostering new ideas and the introduction of additional undersuit models.

Success at hand

By 2004 SANTI team initiated development of the new Drysuit production. The main challenge was to find best solution for the suits to be safe and dry. The work began. Tomasz and his key SANTI employees realized right away that the new Drysuit production would be a major challenge. Undaunted the preparations went on with the first design stage, then prototypes were made from rubberized material so not to waste expensive trilaminate. At this stage parameters were set for durability and fit with a full range of motion and the most important feature; ONE MUST STAY DRY. Then on to the building service department to repair any problems arising with existing suits. With this valuable experience, emphasis was directed to the development of innovative solutions to avoid these problems and a need for certain repairs all together. Lastly, equipping leading Polish and European divers and a few friends with new suits and putting them through a rigorous testing schedule (they just went diving – a lot). Feedback after the testing was immense, the whole company geared up to listen and to sort through all their suggestion from the diving leaders to the novice divers alike.

The interaction between divers and manufacturers has proven to be a crucial element in SANTI Diving’s success in the market. However, it’s important to acknowledge the dedication of the entire workforce, the expertise of master craftsmen, and skilled tailors with decades of experience behind the products. Each product sold brings job satisfaction, financial rewards, and customer appreciation. Tomasz prioritizes being a “diver first and businessman later,” and he pays full attention to every comment received from sales, emphasizing the significance of diver feedback in the company’s approach.

From mid-2009, when the SANTI Diving Division began its further development, Tomasz invited his friend Jakub Szelągowski to join him in managing the growing company and become his business partner. Leveraging Jakub’s extensive management skills and experience in the apparel industry, the company transformed into a professional and well-organized structure. Since then, the company has experienced growth, recruiting additional experienced and dedicated staff to enhance customer service, expand market coverage, and implement best sales practices.

In fact, from that moment onward, SANTI has transitioned from being a producer to a strong brand company.

Throughout its years of existence, SANTI has experienced dynamic growth, consistently hiring experienced managers and specialists across various company departments to build a cohesive and collaborative team. Special attention has been dedicated to enhancing the sales, marketing, and production departments, aiming not only to meet but to exceed market expectations.

The period from 2012 to 2018 marked a particularly dynamic phase in the development of SANTI’s distribution network. Each year witnessed an expansion into new distribution markets, starting from a few and growing to over a dozen, with an extensive network encompassing several hundred dealers.

In 2014, Santi forged a strong partnership with the American company Halcyon Dive Systems, culminating in April 2016 with Santi acquiring a 20% stake in Halcyon. This strategic alliance provides both Halcyon and SANTI with the resources to advance their product range, thereby delivering increased value to the customer.

The company remains committed to its expansion into new markets and ongoing development, continuously expanding its product portfolio.

The forthcoming initiative involves the launch of a distinct product line, SANTI ON DUTY, tailored specifically for specialized uniformed, public, rescue and military services.
